Recap on notes and how we incorporated these into our children's film opening sequence.

Before creating our opening sequence, we watched lots of children's film's openings on youtube and at home. For example, we watched the openings of older films such as Matilda and Jungle Book and also more modern films like The Incredibles, Rango and Kung-Fu Panda. From this we took careful notes and discussed what we could incorporate into our children's film opening without breaking the BBFC guidelines of the U rated classification.

We made sure that we included no inappropriate themes such as drugs, alcohol, sex, violence and language that should not be included in a U rated film.

Finished children's film opening piece- 'SUPERDUCK!'

By Harry, Elena, Robert and Andrea

All in all, we are very pleased with the outcome of our final piece. Although, we were confronted with some initial problems, such as minor disagreements in our group about certain shot types, we overcame these and we have produced a successful animated opening sequence for children.

Editing

The last two lessons (1st and 2nd November) we have been editing and adding titles to our animation piece. This includes using final cut express to piece together our separate video clips with the titles.
We are now ready to move on to adding music and sound effects to our short film using garageband.

Refilm

Today we decided as a group we were not satisfied with the quality of some of our footage (duck flying scene). Therefore we decided to recreate the setting and refilmed this whole scene. This resulted in us adding an additional (10 seconds)

Setting

Making the plasticine duck and setting

Andrea and Elena are in charge of making the plasticine duck, whilst Harry and Rob are designing the set using pieces of lego to create the grass/pond setting and colouring in a white piece of card.

We then decided against this and bought some card from the college shop. This made our set look more professional.
